Onion Jacks

Tell us how you have adapted to the changing times:
We keep our prices down and offer value for money. We feature in-store specials and our printed advertisements even include a discount coupon. We are trying to give visitors and locals the best variety at the most reasonable price.
Elaborate on your children’s section:
We are proud of our wide selection of children’s clothing at a price that is affordable; the sizes range all the way from 6 months to youth and then teens. There are tee shirts, sweatshirts, caps, hats, various toys and stuffed animals; the little ones love to do their own browsing while their parents do theirs.
Describe your special stuffed animal gifts?
Animaland creates a fun furry friend for special people. You choose a “skin” which is the animal you want to stuff then either we can operate the stuffing machine or you (or the child usually) can help by stepping on the foot peddle; the animal is stuffed to your liking as soft or firm as you like. We give you a star to make a wish upon to enclose in the animal. You can also add a recordable voice box to record a special message for the person you are giving the animal to and put that inside the animal, so it’s a very personalized gift. Each animal gets a birth certificate. The animals all have names but of course if you want to choose your own name that’s fine too. We have a great range of outfits for the animals so you can dress it as a Clown, Cheerleader, Police Officer or any one (or two) of the other exciting outfits, and the kids love this. The end result is a special gift for a special person.

Q. Please tell us who “Onion Jack” is. You have an extensive product line revolving around this character:
The theme of the store and our name are centered around “Onion Jack” who is a mythical character created around 1995. He is an “Onion” which of course is a Bermudian, and a pirate with eye patch and all. He is an old salt, a man of the earth with roots deeply attached to “The Rock” (which is what we locals call Bermuda). We have many tee shirt designs, men’s shorts, beach towels, caps and unusual items featuring this loveable rogue, even neck ties, golf towels, stone coasters and fridge magnets. He is a very popular guy.
